Welcome to Urban Bench Designs! If a bench near you has an unusual slat pattern, support profile, or dedication plate, we would enjoy hearing about it. Walking notes and photo comparisons are welcome too, whether from a single street or a longer survey route.

Some of you might remember that few months ago we released r5r, an R package for rapid realistic routing on multimodal transport networks. I’m glad to share we have a new paper paper introducing and demonstrating the r5r package, published open-access on the Findings journal.

The paper talks about the routing algorithms behind R5, and demonstrates how r5r can be easily used to estimate travel time matrices, isochrones and accessibility on multimodal transport networks ‍♀️ ‍♀️ The paper includes an .Rmarkdown file with code to reproduce the study.
